Pakistan Society of Sugar Technologists
The Pakistan Society of Sugar Technologists is a professional community of sugar technologists and agronomists working in sugar mills, related industries, commercial organizations, and research institutions both in Pakistan and abroad. Established as the Pakistan Sugar Technologists Association in 1955, the Society adopted its current name during the Lahore convention in 1966.
Since its founding, the Society has been dedicated to advancing standards across all relevant fields and addressing the challenges faced by the sugar and allied industries. To promote knowledge sharing, the Society organizes conventions, workshops, and seminars, with all proceedings published for wider dissemination. Additionally, during the crushing season, the Society releases monthly summaries of technical results from sugar mills.
The Society’s activities are overseen by an elected council, which includes a President, three Vice Presidents, and a General Secretary/Treasurer, all operating under the Society’s rules and constitution.
